Receipt Printer: Physical Installation
Physical Installation
1.1. Connect the A/C Power cable to the Star Micronics power brick. Make sure this connection is tight as this is one of the most common issues when the printer mysteriously stops working
1.2. Connect the A/C power cable to the AC Power
1.3. Connect the Start Micronics power adapter to the back of the printer. Please note that the adapter can only be plugged in in one direction
1.4. Connect an ethernet cable (not provided) to the back of the printer
1.5. Connect the other end of the ethernet cable to any working network port at your front counter. If you have a Cisco Meraki Switch located under your counter, you can plug the cable in to any port labeled 3-8. Do not attempt to plug in to ports 9 or 10 as these are not actual ports
1.6. Turn on the printer. The printer power switch can be located on the left side of the printer, half way from the front to back of the printer and the bottom edge.
1.7. After the receipt printer is turned on, the power and error light will blink slowly for about 30 seconds. Once a network address is obtained, the power light will be on and not blinking. If the error light is blinking after the power light is solid this usually indicates a paper issue. Please see troubleshooting steps for definition of error lights.
